Was reading an article about how in the future sailing ships could use "kites" to propel them across oceans (refer to here). In fact, some group called "SkySails" has already prototyped one.Apparently the first cargo ship, the MV Beluga Skysails (130m long) will have its maiden voyage in 2007.
Cost : Euro 500,000 to 2.5 million.
